Javonte Williams Could Have Big Role By Season's End
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos didn't trade up in the second round of this year's draft for running back Javonte Williams to sit around and watch from the sidelines in 2021. The Denver Post's Ryan O'Halloran sees a scenario where Melvin Gordon III takes the first snap/series of the game in Week 1 and then the Broncos ease Williams into a bigger role each week. O'Halloran's prediction is that Williams leads the team in rushing attempts and yards by the end of the season. Gordon and Williams should see plenty of touches, with Williams being a bruising between-the-tackles runner. Gordon will be the preferred back in fantasy to begin the season, but Williams is a necessary handcuff and is expected to leapfrog Gordon at some point in 2021.
