Jared Goff To Throw, Lions Ready To Start Tim Boyle
3 years agoDetroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that quarterback Jared Goff (oblique) will throw on Friday, but the team is ready to start Tim Boyle on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Goff missed practice on Thursday and Friday, and although it sounds like he's making some progress, it's probably too late in the week for the Lions to feel confident throwing him on the field against a decent Browns defense. Goff will likely be questionable for Sunday's game, but if he plays, he'll continue to be a very underwhelming low-end QB2 option. Boyle will return from a thumb injury that landed him on Injured Reserve if Goff is unable to go, and he'll only be a desperation QB2 streamer in superflex leagues if he gets the start.
