James Paxton To Start Game 1 Against Twins
5 years agoThe New York Yankees have set their starting rotation for the American League Division Series against the Twins. James Paxton will go in Game 1 on Friday, followed by Masahiro Tanaka in Game 2 and Luis Severino in Game 3. Paxton, a left-hander, went 15-6 with a 3.82 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 186 strikeouts in 150 2/3 innings over his 29 starts this year. In one start against the Twins this year, Paxton tossed three innings and allowed an unearned run while walking three and striking out one. Minnesota had the highest OPS (.872) in the American League against lefties in 2019 and also led the league with 95 home runs against them. It makes Paxton a shaky DFS start for the divisional round on Friday in DFS.
