Jamal Adams A Pass-Rushing Safety Threat
5 years agoNew York Jets strong safety Jamal Adams' positional versatility -- he can play all three safety spots, cornerback and pass-rusher -- makes him an extremely valuable safety for Gang Green. His 90 pass-rushing snaps were second-most at the safety position, and he recorded 23 pressures, which were the most among safeties per Pro Football Focus. Adams' 17 quarterback pressures last season were also the most among defensive backs. No wonder he wants to be the league's highest-paid safety. The 24-year-old was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro in 2019 with 6.5 sacks, 75 tackles (61 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 13 QB hits, an interception returned for a TD and a fumble recovery for a TD. He's not only one of the best pass-rushing safeties, but he's also very physical against the run. Adams should be the first defensive back off the board in IDP formats.
