Jake Burger Not Starting Wednesday
Jake Burger (hand) took some swings on Wednesday, but he won't start against the Detroit Tigers. Burger should be available off the bench, though, and he should be ready to return on Friday against the Houston Astros after Thursday's off day. The 26-year-old had been seeing most of the playing time at the hot corner recently over the struggling Yoan Moncada, but it sounds like Burger will be back in there on Friday. He's swung a much better bat than Moncada this year, slashing .273/.322/.508 with an .829 OPS, eight home runs, 23 RBI and 18 runs scored in 38 games. Moncada will get another start at third on Wednesday and is hitting fifth against Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo.
