2 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (side) is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session of spring training on Thursday, according to manager Bruce Bochy. deGrom reported left side tightness after a throwing session early last week, and the Rangers held him back as a precaution early in camp given his long list of injuries in recent seasons. The 34-year-old right-hander resumed working out on Sunday and hasn't had any setbacks, so he will continue his throwing progression as he ramps up for the 2023 season. The two-time Cy Young winner will be delayed in making his Cactus League debut, but barring any more setbacks, he should be ready for Opening Day. deGrom is a top-10 fantasy starter, but he also comes with a good amount of injury risk in his first year in Texas.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
