The Cincinnati Reds selected J.W. Mitchell High School catcher Jackson Miller with the 65th overall pick in the second round in the 2020 MLB draft on Thursday. Miller is an attractive left-handed-hitting catcher, but he's not as polished as some of the other prep backstops in 2020. He is athletic and has a good approach at the plate, using line drives and staying in the middle of the field. The 18-year-old should get stronger and could become an average power hitter if he learns how to create more loft on the baseball. Miller has agility behind the plate but must work on his receiving and blocking to go along with his above-average arm. He was committed to Wake Forest before the draft.--Keith HernandezRead More News
