J.D. Martinez Could Return Saturday
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers designated hitter J.D. Martinez (hamstring) received an epidural injection on Wednesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. Martinez's MRI exam didn't show anything different than the team was expecting, and Roberts said he hopes Martinez can return to the lineup by Saturday against the Colorado Rockies. The 35-year-old veteran doesn't appear to need a trip to the injured list, which is great news for fantasy managers, but they probably still won't have him available for their lineups for at least another couple of days. In his first year in LA, the six-time All-Star is having a fine season, slashing .260/.312/.558 with an .870 OPS, 25 home runs, 22 doubles, two triples, 76 RBI and 48 runs scored in 88 games. Return him to starting lineups when he returns for the Blue.
