Cincinnati Reds manager Terry Francona said that right-hander Hunter Greene (groin) is scheduled to return from the 15-day injured list to start on Friday against the division-rival Chicago Cubs. It was announced earlier on Monday that Greene would return at some point this weekend, but now we know it will be for the series opener against Chicago at Great American Ball Park. The 25-year-old has been a must-start for fantasy managers all season long, but the former second overall pick in 2017 will be much more risky in his first start back against the first-place Cubs, especially since he will return without going on a minor-league rehab assignment. Greene has 61 strikeouts and only eight walks in 45 2/3 innings over his eight starts in 2025 and has allowed three runs or less in seven of his eight starts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
