Henry Ruggs III Has High Expectations In Year 2
4 years agoLas Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III, the first receiver taken in last year's stacked class, has high expectations for himself in 2021 after disappointing in his rookie season. Ruggs wasn't able to work with coaches directly due to COVID-19 after being the 12th overall pick, and he also dealt with a thigh injury before last season. His 26 catches for 452 yards ranked 14th and 11th, respectively, among rookie wideouts with at least 25 receptions, per ESPN Stats and Information. However, his 17.4 yards-per-catch average led all rookie pass-catchers. "Honestly, I don't think anybody's expectations for me are higher than myself," Ruggs said. The Raiders have plenty of receiver speed, but Ruggs is the fastest with the most upside. Until Ruggs proves that his elite speed can translate to more consistent production, some fantasy managers will remain skeptical.
