Harrison Burton Remains On Hot Seat
6 months agoHarrison Burton qualified 30th for the Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway. The Wood Brothers Racing car showed a little promise in practice with the 20th-best lap. However, that faded as Burton ended up 0.697 seconds off the pole time set for the Sunday afternoon race. Results have not been the kind for the driver of the No. 21 Ford. His average finishing position of 27.9 is even worse than last year. Furthermore, he has a 10th at Talladega and 11th at Atlanta. Both races were marred by mass carnage. Burton has not performed well on short or intermediate tracks. Even at Phoenix, he lost three positions on the track. That is an ominous sign.
