Gunnar Henderson Dealing With Sore Oblique
10 months agoBaltimore Orioles shortstop Gunnar Henderson (oblique) is dealing with some oblique soreness at camp, but it's not viewed as serious. It doesn't sound like Henderson will be in danger of missing Opening Day this year, but the 22-year-old might be delayed in Grapefruit League action as a precaution. The O's have every reason to ease last year's American League Rookie of the Year in so that he won't miss games to begin the regular season. In his first full big-league campaign in 2023, Henderson was a force, slashing .255/.325/.489 with an .814 OPS, 28 home runs, 29 doubles, nine triples, 82 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 100 runs scored in 150 games. If his plate discipline slowly starts to improve, perhaps even Henderson will be able to help fantasy managers in batting average.
