Gunnar Henderson Batting Leadoff Against Tigers
Gunnar Henderson is starting at third base and batting leadoff for the first time in his career on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers and left-hander Joey Wentz. Even against a left-handed pitcher, the O's trust the 21-year-old left-handed hitter to bat leadoff. He's impressed so far in his first 64 major-league at-bats, going 20-for-64 (.313) with two home runs, 12 RBI, seven runs scored and a stolen base over 18 games. The 21-year-old wasn't ranked by MLB Pipeline as the league's No. 2 prospect this year for no reason. So far in 23 at-bats against lefties, he has eight hits (one homer) and eight RBI. The upside is certainly there with Henderson in both DFS and season-long leagues.
