Grayson Rodriguez Has Dominant Start At High-A
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles pitching prospect Grayson Rodriguez allowed just one hit in six innings of work on Friday. The 21-year-old former first-round pick also struck out eight batters and did not issue a walk. One of the best pitching prospects in baseball despite the lack of attention, Rodriguez now has a 1.47 ERA through four starts in 2021. He has an eye-catching K-BB ratio of 31-4 in just 18 2/3 innings. He's also been extremely difficult to square up and has allowed just nine hits. In 2019 at Low-A ball, he struck out 129 batters and gave up just 57 hits in 94 innings of work. With premium stuff, above-average control, and a strong frame, Rodriguez has the makings of a front-line starter for the rebuilding Orioles.
