Giants, Daniel Jones Making Progress In Talks
2 years agoThere has been progress in recent days between the New York Giants and impending free-agent quarterback Daniel Jones on a contract extension, according to sources. Getting a deal done by Tuesday's deadline to use the franchise tag doesn't seem unreasonable. Jones had the best season of his young career in 2022 under head coach Brian Daboll, although he didn't necessarily light up the box scores. The 25-year-old completed a career-high 67.2 percent of his passes for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions while carrying the ball 120 times for 708 yards and seven more TDs. Jones is by no means a QB1 in fantasy after last year, but his rushing ability makes him a decent QB2 with streaming potential in deeper leagues if he remains in New York.
