Gerrit Cole Records Quality Start In 16th Victory
New York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole notched his 16th win of the season Friday against Boston. Cole was spotted an early seven-run lead by the Yankee lineup and proceeded to cruise for five innings, with his only blemish coming in the form of a three-run homer by Rafael Devers in the sixth inning. The ace righty struck out six batters, generating 11 whiffs, five of them coming on his slider. Cole now boasts a strong 3.08 ERA with a 237:41 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 175 1/3 innings pitched. He'll look to bring fantasy managers home in his final scheduled start against the Blue Jays.
