Gerrit Cole Hopes To Solve Second-Half Woes
6 years agoHouston Astros starter Gerrit Cole will hope to replicate his excellent first half of the season when he is scheduled to pitch next Tuesday against the Rockies. Cole is currently 10-2 with a 2.52 ERA, a 0.98 WHIP and 177 strikeouts through 128 1/3 innings pitched. Cole will look to do what he has failed to do the past several seasons: finish up the season strong. Cole is 13-16 in 38 second half starts with a 4.17 ERA since 2015. The good news for Cole this season is that his home/road splits are practically identical and he has struck out eight or more hitters in 14 of his 20 starts this season. Cole is one of the top pitchers in fantasy this season but will have a tough matchup next Tuesday pitching in the hitter-friendly Coors Field.
