German Marquez Notches Quality Start on Thursday
German Marquez pitched well but took the loss in his team's 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Marquez allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits over seven innings while striking out five and walking two. He saw his record fall to 1-7, to go along with a 7.66 ERA, 1.68 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts over 47 innings of work this season. That being said, Marquez has allowed just one earned run in two of his past three starts. He still can't be trusted in any fantasy league, but it is worth monitoring him in case he strings together a few more productive outings.
