German Marquez Lit Up By Braves
7 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez was a popular sleeper coming into this season, but after a shiny first start, he got massacred by the Braves on Friday. Marquez hurt his own cause by walking six batters in just 4 and 2/3 innings, and Atlanta eventually hung seven earned runs on him before the day was out. Hopefully, owners were smart enough to sit Marquez since he was pitching at home, and the Braves have proved to be a better team than expected so far. The big concern for Marquez at the moment are his walk numbers. Even though he threw five shutout innings last time out, he walked four in that appearance as well. If he can't get his walks under control, he may be lucky to stay in the rotation, much less be fantasy relevant.
