George Springer Suffers Concussion, Shoulder Sprain
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins said that outfielder George Springer (concussion, shoulder) suffered a concussion and a shoulder sprain in the Game 2 loss to the Seattle Mariners in the Wild-Card Series last Saturday when he was involved in a scary collision with shortstop Bo Bichette. Springer remains in Toronto, but the team believes he'll be cleared to travel soon. The 33-year-old had to be carted off the field and likely wouldn't have been available if the series had gone to a deciding third game on Sunday. In the two games of the Wild-Card Series, Springer went 2-for-7 with three strikeouts. He finished the regular season with a .267/.342/.472 slash line, an .814 OPS, 25 home runs, 76 RBI, 89 runs scored and 14 stolen bases in 513 at-bats.
