George Springer Returns To Friday's Lineup
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (illness) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the Atlanta Braves and right-hander Spencer Strider. Springer is starting in right field and hitting in his usual leadoff spot. The 33-year-old has been battling a viral illness and missed the last two games, but he'll be back in there this weekend. Fantasy managers will be hoping he can turn things around with the bat, as he's hitting just .209 (29-for-139) with a double, four home runs, 13 RBI, five stolen bases and 17 runs scored in 35 games so far in 2023. It won't be easy with Strider on the mound, so those in DFS contests may want to look elsewhere for a leadoff hitter. In seven games so far in May, Springer is 4-for-28 (.143) with a home run, three RBI and five strikeouts in 28 plate appearances.
