Gary Sanchez Taking The Day Off
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Gary Sanchez is not in the starting lineup on Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Sanchez will get a day to rest after he went 1-for-11 with five strikeouts in his last three games to drop his season line to .225/.287/.430. The former Yankee has six home runs, 25 RBI, 14 runs scored and one stolen base in his first 41 games for the Twins this year. Ryan Jeffers is behind the plate and is batting eighth on Saturday, while Byron Buxton is serving as the designated hitter and batting second against Jays right-hander Jose Berrios. Buxton is a must-start anytime he's in the lineup, but Jeffers is a desperation DFS option at catcher, as he's batting just .178 (21-for-118) on the season with three homers and 14 RBI.
