Frank Reich Wants Philip Rivers Back In 2021
4 years agoIndianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich wants quarterback Philip Rivers to be the team's starting quarterback in 2021. "As I sit here right now, yes, I want Philip Rivers to be my starting quarterback next year," Reich said. "... I think Philip still has a lot of good football (left)." The 39-year-old is set to be a free agent this offseason after bouncing back for 4,169 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in his first season with Indy. Rivers had the third-best completion percentage (68) of his career and led the Colts to the playoffs for just the second time since 2014. Rivers still isn't guaranteed to continue his playing career next year or return to the Colts, but the veteran gunslinger surprised some folks with his play after struggling in his last year with the Chargers. If Rivers comes back in 2021, he'll be more of a QB in his 18th NFL season.
