Framber Valdez Moving Into The Rotation
6 years agoHouston Astros left-handed starting pitcher Framber Valdez is scheduled to move into the starting rotation following the demotion of Corbin Martin to Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday. Valdez is scheduled to take the ball for a start on Saturday opposite Gabriel Ynoa and the Baltimore Orioles in what appears to be a very favorable start. He enters with a 2-2 record, 3.12 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 26 innings over 14 relief appearances this season, striking out 21 batters with a .229 opponent batting average. He made five starts last season, limiting the opponent to a .193 average with 20 strikeouts over 24 1/3 innings while going 2-1. He is worth a speculative pick in AL-only fantasy leagues since he pitches for a high-powered offense.
