Ezequiel Tovar Enjoying Massive Spring
9 months agoColorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar is enjoying a big spring training at the plate as he looks forward to his sophomore season. The 22-year-old has gone 7-for-13 with two home runs, one double, five runs, seven RBI, and a 1.610 OPS on the spring across 15 trips to the plate. The youngster put forth a solid rookie season from a counting-stats perspective as he hit 15 home runs with 79 runs, 73 RBI, and 11 stolen bases across 153 games a season ago. However, he walked in just 5.7% of his plate appearances and his 70 wRC+ fell 30% below the league average. He remains a nice fantasy option in the 2024 season as he is projected to hit 16 home runs with 13 stolen bases and 76 runs scored by ATC. Of course, playing half of your games at the hitter-friendly Coors Field is an added bonus to his fantasy value.
