Eury Perez Dealing With Elbow Soreness, Set To Undergo Imaging
9 months agoThe Miami Marlins announced starting pitcher Eury Perez (elbow) is set to undergo imaging and testing on his throwing elbow in the coming days. Perez was pulled from his start Wednesday after experiencing discomfort from a broken fingernail. He started to experience elbow discomfort on Thursday. Part of the 20-year-old's diagnostic process will be to meet with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Keith Meister in Texas. Perez was set to be a vital part of the Marlins' rotation, projected for 161 strikeouts, a 3.13 ERA, and a 1.17 WHIP. After a promising 2023, Perez and the Marlins will certainly be hopeful that testing and imaging will reveal as little damage as possible as Miami's current rotation is decimated. Fantasy managers will have to wait for the imaging results on Perez's sore elbow. The injury jeopardizes his status for Opening Day, and he could miss the start of the season.
