Elly De La Cruz Swipes Two More Bags
Elly De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with two steals in his team's 6-0 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The Reds were outscored 15-1, losing both games of their doubleheader on Wednesday, but the dynamic shortstop still found a way to be relevant. Overall, on the day, De La Cruz collected three singles and scored a run while bringing his steal total up to 13 on the season. He's been excellent thus far in 2025. In addition to being right on pace to hit 67 steals again, the Dominican Republic native is batting a cool .281 with five home runs, four doubles, 24 RBI, and 21 runs scored. Not only has he upped his hard-hit rate from the prior two campaigns (50%), but he's also making contact more often when he swings the bat (82.4% zone contact).
