Eddie Rosario Put On Waivers By Twins
4 years agoThe Minnesota Twins placed left fielder Eddie Rosario on outright waivers on Tuesday, according to a source. It's an indication that Rosario could be a non-tender candidate on Wednesday. Any team can claim Rosario until noon on Wednesday and take on his salary for 2021, which would be his final season of eligibility. He'll be due a significant raise over the $7.75 million he made in 2020. Rosario ranks third on the Twins with 119 home runs and leads the team with 388 RBI since his debut in 2015. But he's had a .310 career on-base percentage and .788 OPS because of free-swinging tendencies. Rosario had a career-best 8.2 percent walk rate last year along with 13 homers in 57 games, but the Twins have a young outfield, with Alex Kirilloff and Brent Rooker debuting in 2020. Trevor Larnach, the team's No. 3 prospect, could also debut in 2021.
