Dylan Cozens Smacks First Home Run
7 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs were locked in a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning at Wrigley Field on Wednesday night. After Aaron Altherr singled to put the go-ahead run on base, rookie Dylan Cozens, who took over earlier for Nick Williams, stepped up to the plate. In his third game, the 24-year-old drilled a clutch, two-run home run to left field that appeared to give the Phillies a decisive lead. It was only Cozens’ second hit since being promoted in light of Rhys Hoskins’ injury and subsequent disabled list stint. If Williams misses some games, Cozens will see starting time at some point this week.
