1 year agoDallas Mavericks small forward Derrick Jones Jr. could begin his debut campaign in Texas as a starter. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Jones Jr. "played himself into contention for the starting berth" during the team's preseason road trip through Abu Dhabi and Europe. The 26-year-old made the biggest impression in the team's final outing against Real Madrid, totaling eight points on 4-for-6 shooting and grabbing five rebounds in 18 minutes on the floor. Getting to roll with the starters would be a big boost for Jones Jr.'s fantasy stock after the former NBA dunk champion spent two years warming the Bulls bench.
