Denny Hamlin had some nice qualifying runs and a solid practice on Saturday. Hamlin and his Joe Gibbs Racing car will start eighth at Darlington. Hamlin enjoys the best average finishing position of all drivers since 2020 at 6.9. That includes five top-five results and two victories. Considering how many "big ones" happen at Darlington, that is an impressive stretch. Only Kevin Harvick has more top-ten results in that stretch at six. Hamlin also leads all drivers with seven intermediate track wins since 2020. Last Spring, the No. 11 car was fourth after Stage 2 but dropped off (bad pit stop and crash). --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
