Demario Douglas 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook: Uptick in Both Competition and Opportunity
Drake Maye, there wasn't much to write home about. However, receiver DeMario Douglas has impressed enough to earn snaps in 2025 despite increased competition. Although he was part of a weak passing attack, Douglas reeled in 66 catches for 621 yards and three touchdowns. While his yards per catch were worryingly low, the New England offensive line often had Maye running for his life. New England addressed the offensive line this offseason by signing tackle Morgan Moses, center Garrett Bradbury, and drafting tackle Will Campbell with the fourth pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. An improved offensive line in 2025 could help Douglas utilize his speed and make plays downfield. The Patriots completely retooled their receiver room this offseason, signing free agents Stefon Diggs (knee), Mack Hollins, and drafting Kyle Williams in the third round. However, Douglas will still get his fair share of reps in the slot in three-receiver sets. His route-running and hands have improved since entering the league and earned Maye's trust. Douglas is a late-round value, especially in PPR formats, and comes in as RotoBaller's WR73 heading into fantasy football drafts.
