David Njoku Should Be Targeted Often
1 year agoThe Athletic's Zac Jackson advises fantasy football managers to stock up on shares of tight end David Njoku during draft season. Njoku has had a phenomenal training camp this summer, gets open on a regular basis and has seen a lot of passes come his way. The Browns are dealing with the loss of speedy deep threat Marquise Goodwin. His absence makes Elijah Moore the team's best deep-ball option, which accelerated the team's plans to move Njoku out of a traditional tight end role and into more of a flexible, matchup-based option. Jackson envisions both Moore and Njoku getting a bunch of quick, safe targets in the passing game that the Browns hope will turn into occasional big catch-and-run plays. The 27-year-old Njoku had a career-high 58 receptions for 628 yards and four TDs in 2022. A full year of having quarterback Deshaun Watson under center should allow Njoku to improve, making him an attractive low-end TE1 with upside in fantasy.
