David Bakhtiari Won't Play Thursday
3 years agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said that All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) will not be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list in time to play on Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals. Bakhtiari tore his ACL on New Year's Eve last year. It's more likely that he will make his season debut in Week 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs. "He's coming off a really significant injury. He looks great. He's worked his tail off. He's put a lot of hours in. We just want to make sure the timing is right," LaFleur said. The return of Bakhtiari will be good news for quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense, but they could have some trouble with the Cardinals defense on Thursday with star pass-rusher Chandler Jones returning from the COVID-19 list.
