Washington Capitals goaltender Darcy Kuemper (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup Friday versus New Jersey. According to Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery, Kuemper was "a little nicked up in the last game." The 33-year-old had a tough outing against Florida on Wednesday, allowing four goals on 25 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss. Kuemper has gone 3-3-2 overall for the season, registering a 3.07 goals-against average with a .892 save percentage. Charlie Lindgren will start in Kuemper's absence on Friday, while Hunter Shepard has been summoned from the minors to work as the backup. Shepard could get some action as well during his stint with the team, as Washington plays again on Saturday versus the Islanders.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
