Dameon Pierce Misses Practice With Ankle Injury
1 year agoHouston Texans Pro Bowl alternate running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury, according to a league source. His status for Sunday's Week 9 contest against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is still being determined. The Texans will see where Pierce is at as the week progresses. Fantasy managers should consider the 23-year-old second-year back to be firmly up in the air to play this weekend. If he's out or limited against Tampa, Devin Singletary would enter the fantasy picture as an RB3/flex, with Mike Boone likely serving in a change-of-pace role in Houston's backfield. Pierce ended up playing only 43 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 8 loss to the Carolina Panthers and had 12 carries for 46 yards. He has been a big disappointment in his sophomore campaign and is averaging a meager 3.0 yards per carry through seven games played.
