5 years agoThe Chicago Cubs have claimed pitcher Cory Mazzoni off waivers from the San Diego Padres. Mazzoni has mostly itched in the minor leagues since he was drafted in 2011 and holds a career 3.79 ERA on the farm where has been both a starter and reliever. He has received a cup of coffee in the big leagues with the Padres in 2015 and 2017 but struggled in both stints. In 14 big league appearances he holds a 17.28 ERA.
