Cowboys Defense Could Be Getting Reinforcements Soon
4 years agoDallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory, linebacker Leighton Vander Esch (collarbone) and cornerback Anthony Brown (ribs) could all return over the next few weeks. Gregory is working his way back from a suspension that has kept him out since the 2018 playoffs. Wednesday will be his first on-field workout with the team. Gregory was a second-rounder in 2015 and had six sacks in 2018. Vander Esch is healing well from his broken collarbone suffered in the season-opener. When healthy, he's certainly a difference-maker as the team's starting middle linebacker. He could be back for the Oct. 9 game on Monday night against the Cardinals. Brown broke his ribs in practice after Week 1, but the team is confident he can play this week against the Giants. It's good news for a Cowboys Defense that allowed 49 points to the Browns in Week 4, but fantasy managers should still be staying away from them, even against the winless Giants on Sunday.
