Corey Seager Remains Out Of Starting Lineup
6 months agoTexas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) is not in Saturday's lineup. This is the second game in a row the star infielder has sat out of since injuring his left hamstring on Wednesday. As a result, Josh Smith will cover shortstop, which opens up the hot corner for Ezequiel Duran. Before the injury, Seager was on an incredible run with a .360/.458/.880 line in his previous 14 games with eight long balls. Seager remains a top option at shortstop for the remainder of the season. Both Smith and Duran have performed well in a utility role this season with a .284 and .280 AVG, respectively, and are worth a look in DFS this afternoon as they will face Giants starter Spencer Howard, who has logged only two starts this season and holds a 2.08 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP across eight ⅔ innings.
