Clyde Edwards-Helaire Closer To A Return
3 years agoKansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said that running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) is "closer" to a potential return from Injured Reserve. "We'll have to see how time handles it here in the next couple of weeks," Reid said. The 22-year-old second-year back may be close to a return, but it doesn't sound like it'll happen this weekend against the Green Bay Packers, as the team has yet to even open up his 21-day practice window. Edwards-Helaire needs to remain stashed in all fantasy formats, but his managers will need to continue to be patient. Darrel Williams has been the primary back in CEH's absence, but Derrick Gore came out of nowhere to handle 11 carries for 48 yards and a touchdown in Week 8 despite playing just 19% of the offensive snaps. Gore looked fresh and explosive and could be a thorn in Williams' side until Edwards-Helaire is able to return.
