4 years agoCarolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey (ankle) suffered the dreaded high ankle sprain in the Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers and is expected to miss four to six weeks. With his expected timetable, the Panthers could decide to place him on Injured Reserve, from which he could return in three weeks. This is obviously a huge blow for fantasy managers, as McCaffrey was taken first overall in the vast majority of fantasy drafts. Mike Davis, McCaffrey's backup, will be a hot pickup off the waiver wire heading into Week 3. Expect Trenton Cannon to work as his direct backup for however long McCaffrey is sidelined.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
