Chris Paddack Settles For $2.4 Million
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins and right-hander Chris Paddack avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.4 million deal. Paddack only made five starts for the Twins in 2022 in his first year with the team and needed his second Tommy John surgery in May. In his five starts, he allowed 10 earned runs on 25 hits while walking two and striking out 20 in 22 1/3 innings. Because the 27-year-old starting pitcher likely won't be ready to rejoin the starting rotation until the second half of 2023, he won't be worth drafting in mixed leagues. Paddack has struggled to replicate his rookie year in 2019 with the San Diego Padres, when he posted a 3.33 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and a career-high 153 strikeouts in 26 starts.
