Carlos Correa Getting A Breather On Sunday
Carlos Correa is getting a day of rest for Sunday's series finale against the visiting San Francisco Giants at Target Field. Brooks Lee will make the start at shortstop and will hit cleanup against Giants right-hander Landen Roupp. Correa will be getting his first day off since April 16. In 21 games since then, he has gone 23-for-82 (.280) with two home runs, three doubles, nine RBI and eight runs scored in 86 plate appearances. It's been nice to see from the 30-year-old Puerto Rican veteran after a slow start to the year, but he's still slashing only .231/.270/.329 with an ugly .598 OPS, two homers, 13 RBI and 13 runs scored in 2025. Lee, the former eighth overall pick in 2022 out of Cal Poly, has been mediocre at the plate so far this year with a .232 average (19-for-82), two homers and seven RBI. The 24-year-old switch-hitter has never faced Petty.
