8/1:Seattle Mariners outfielder Cameron Maybin went 1-for-2 with one run scored and two walks in his Mariners debut Wednesday. Acquired by the Marlins before the deadline, Maybin immediately got the start in center field and should see plenty of playing time moving forward. The arrow was pointing up for Maybin before the trade and is slashing .333/.500/.528 over his last 36 at-bats with 11 walks. The 31-year-old is very streaky at the plate but provides an upgrade of speed and offensive potential over the platoon of Guillermo Heredia and Ben Gamel. Perhaps Maybin can catch fire with his new team and could be worth a flier in fantasy as a bench piece over the next week.--Joey C - RotoBaller
