Cal Raleigh on the Bench on Wednesday
Cal Raleigh is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Mitch Garver is behind the plate and will catch right-hander Logan Gilbert while hitting sixth against Royals left-hander Noah Cameron. Raleigh is receiving just his third day off of the season. In all fairness, it's been hard for the M's to sit him down with how dominant he's been on offense in 2025. The 28-year-old switch-hitting catcher has been one of the best players in all of baseball this year and comes into Wednesday's action leading the league with 33 home runs and 71 RBI in 84 games. He's also added a superb .272/.383/.641 slash line, 1.024 OPS, 60 runs scored and nine stolen bases in 371 plate appearances. Even with some regression due in the second half, Raleigh is going to easily finish with a career year in 2025.
