Buccaneers Eyeing Extension For Lavonte David
4 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had recent negotiations with linebacker Lavonte David with an eye towards a contract extension, according to a source. David is due to make $10.75 million this year in the final year of his current deal. The 30-year-old is heading into his ninth season with the Buccaneers and has been the face of their defense for a while. The former second-rounder was a first-team All-Pro in 2013 and a Pro Bowler in 2015. He's had over 100 combined tackles in all but one of his eight seasons, including 123 (82 solo) in 2019 in 16 games. In what could be an even better Buccaneers Defense in 2020, David is undoubtedly an every-week starter at his position in IDP leagues.
