Browns Plan To Start Baker Mayfield On Saturday
3 years agoCleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said the plan is for quarterback Baker Mayfield to start on Saturday against the Green Bay Packers. Mayfield remains on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but because of the 10-day rule, he'll be eligible to come off the list on Friday, regardless of testing. The Browns will be getting wide receiver Jarvis Landry back as well, so they'll be getting some starting weapons back on offense, minus running back Kareem Hunt (ankle). Cleveland might not be able to rely on the ground game as much as they'd like in this matchup, but Mayfield, who hasn't played since Dec. 12, will be a low-end QB2 against a solid Packers defense on the road. Mayfield has gone over 300 yards passing twice this year and not since Week 5.
