Browns Looking To Upgrade Over Baker Mayfield?
3 years agoThe Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot says it's likely that the Cleveland Browns will decide to upgrade over quarterback Baker Mayfield this offseason, even if the QB resolves his differences with head coach Kevin Stefanski. According to sources, Mayfield felt like Stefanski's play-calling didn't always put him in a position to succeed or play to his strengths. Mayfield certainly didn't play well this year, but it didn't help that he suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder in Week 2 and dealt with several other injuries throughout the season. He's under contract for $18.858 million in his fifth-year option in 2022, but it's uncertain if the Browns even view him as their starter for next season. Mayfield ranks 27th with an 83.1 QB rating, and his 60.5 completion percentage ranks 28th in the NFL. If Mayfield is Cleveland's starter in 2022, he'll be passed over in most standard-sized fantasy leagues.
