Brooks Lee Ends First Year At Double-A
2 years agoMinnesota Twins shortstop prospect Brooks Lee, who was taken eighth overall in this year's draft, has made it up to Double-A Wichita in his first year as a professional. In his final two games of the year with Wichita, he went 3-for-8 with a run scored after he hit .289/.395/.454 with an .848 OPS, four home runs, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored in 25 games with High-A Cedar Rapids. He's already the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and the 21-year-old is likely to open up his first full professional season at Wichita. Lee certainly appears to be on the fast track to the majors, but we'll see how he fares in 2023. The switch-hitting infielder has elite bat-to-ball skills, which should allow him to hit for a high average, even as he starts to face better pitching.
