Brock Stewart Done For The Season
4 months agoMinnesota Twins right-hander Brock Stewart (shoulder) will undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder in Cincinnati next Tuesday. The procedure comes with a five- to six-month recovery timeline, so he'll have a goal of ramping up for spring training in 2025. The Twins moved Stewart from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Friday. It's been a tough year for the 32-year-old reliever, as he's managed to pitch only 15 2/3 innings for Minnesota in 2024, posting a 5.17 ERA (3.81 FIP) and 1.47 WHIP with 20 strikeouts and eight walks in his 16 appearances out of the bullpen. Stewart only pitched in 27 2/3 innings in 2023 because of arm issues, too, but he was a lot better with a 0.65 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and his second career save. Hopefully, he'll be ready to rock for the start of the 2025 regular season.
